The holidays….

‘Tis the season of giving. When you give someone a gift, it lets them know you were thinking about them. There’s something nice about giving something willingly without wanting anything in return. Making someone feel special is one of the main reasons you choose to give every year.

Here at Through Wolf Eye’s we know holiday shopping can be a hassle. You want to give a meaningful gift with purpose, but it’s not always super simple. I tend to try to give gifts with personal touches such as items with their initials on it or photo books showcasing a unique memory like a trip or special event.

But the holidays come around every year, which means we have to come up with something new all the time. So to help you out, we’ve put together a list of personal presents for everyone on your list to amp up your gift giving this season!

1) Personalized Poster of the Night Sky

A Star Map is a unique gift to commemorate a wedding, birth, anniversary, or other special occasions with a print of the constellations in the night sky. This is how it works: select a place, date, and time to create a design showing the night sky (or day) as it was, at that location during your chosen moment. You can really capture a moment in time and give it a different way this year.

2) Typography Two Print, Photo, or Canvas

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed. So you can get super creative with a typography poster. For example, you can create a personal poster describing someone’s personality and frame it up for a great gift. You can choose from a variety of different fonts and colors schemes.

3) Personalized Dual Heart Poster

Ok, last poster idea! With this one, you can showcase two different special locations within a heart. Perfect to show someone your always in their heart no matter the distance! You can use location pickers to select your two areas, then choose one of the six map styles.

4) The Ultimate Birthday Book

The New York Times offers a book that contains the front page from a loved one’s day of birth and every birthday that followed. It comes with a timeline spanning 109 years of news and cultural events; top pages from the recipient’s birth year; and an array of famous Times front pages. Available with a leatherette or premium linen cover.

5) A Portrait

It doesn’t get more personal than a personal portrait! You could even showcase someone at their favorite restaurant or doing a hobby of theirs. Kris Atomic offers fun and creative portrait illustrations that would make great gifts.

6) Travel Mug with a Drawing

This is the perfect gift for parents or grandparents. It’s a coffee mug with a personal drawing etched onto it. It’s super cute for your kids to draw something special for grandma or grandpa then have it put out on the mug for them. It serves as a nice little reminder of you every time they take a sip.

7) House Illustration

The home is where the heart is. A heartwarming gift to consider is a drawing of a home. You could gift your parents a picture of the house you grew up in or give your grandparents one representing the love and good times you experienced in their home. You can get one on Etsy by submitting a photo and you’ll have an 10×10 or 10×12 illustration on your doorstep by Christmas!

8) A Signature Bracelet

A different take on a piece jewelry is a signature bracelet. All you have to do is submit a photo or scan of any handwritten message you’d like and then it can be etched on to the bracelet. A great way to gift someone a piece of you they can always have near.

9) Customized Coasters

Shoutout to all the awesome moms, dad, grandpas, and grandmas out there. Give them a gift of a personalized coaster for their coffee, tea, or beer! It’s a coaster listing all the great qualities they posses and it’s guaranteed to make them feel special. It also makes for a great stocking stuffer.

10) Illustrated recipe

Perfect for the fantastic cook in your life! Pick his or her’s favorite recipe and have it artistically designed into a custom illustration to hang in the kitchen. You can find it on Etsy where they’ll use hand lettered text, personal details and illustrations to make your recipe one of a kind!

These are just a couple of ideas to get the wheel turning for some creative and personal gifts this holiday season. I have my eye on the signature bracelet for my mom and the typography poster for my dad!
